Lake Day Celebration includes youth fishing contest

Cub Scout Pack 126 is sponsoring this year's Youth Fishing Contest on Saturday during the National Marina "Lake Day Celebration" at Chautauqua Marina. The contest is open to all youth 3 to 12 years old. Prizes will be awarded to all youth fishing participants. In addition a free fly knot-tying workshop for kids and a musky fishing workshop for adults are scheduled. A light lunch will be served to all class and youth fishing contest participants. Visitors and residents are encouraged to stop by Chautauqua Marina from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to the classes and contest, the marina is holding an open house that will allow viewing of the "Waterfront Erosion Protection Project." Representatives from CWA, CLA and Chautauqua Marina, Cub Scout pack 126 will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Free musky fishing class, presented by Mike Sperry, Chautauqua Reel Outdoors Guide & Tackle.

9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free fly-tying workshop for children, presented by craftsmen of "fishinfeather" Ted Pappas and Nancy Kadunce.

10 a.m. Free youth fishing contest registration and sign in.

10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Youth fishing contest.

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Awards and light lunch included for all participants and their families Pre register for youth fishing contest and workshops.

8:30 to 2 p.m. Open House Come see the recently completed "Waterfront Erosion Project."
