Observer Today

Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office issued a travel advisory at 10:45 p.m. Thursday. There is no unnecessary travel for the towns of Dayton, Leon, New Albion and Conewango. Heavy rain caused many roads to become flooded and covered with debris and tree limbs. If you must travel use extreme caution and watch for flooded roads and debris. According to NYalert.gov, a flash flood warning was in effect for the are until 11:30 p.m. and it was warned several roads were closed and flooding was expected in small streams after nearly three inches of rain fell in around one hour.
