Man, dog rescued from lake near Dunkirk Pier

June 16, 2014
Observer Today

An unidentified adult male and his dog were rescued from Lake Erie Saturday night after the dog reportedly jumped into the waters around the Dunkirk Pier, leaving his owner to jump in after it to save it. The Dunkirk Fire Department arrived on-scene around 10 p.m. and stayed there for about 15 minutes, placing a ladder into the water for the man to climb out. One firefighter assisted in bringing the dog up to dry land. Both the man and the dog made it out with no injuries.
