Garage fire in Hanover

June 18, 2014
Observer Today

Several fire departments responded to a garage fire in the town of Hanover at 11116 Gibbs Road around 3:35 p.m. Tuesday. Forestville Fire Chief Kyle Barthell said the fire was called in by the owner of the property and was fully involved when firefighters arrived. He said a tractor and equipment inside the garage were lost, but no one was injured. "It was a difficult fire due to the wind pushing it toward the barn," Barthell said. Firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half and were able to prevent much damage to the barn. Barthell thanked his firefighters along with the firefighters from Hanover Center, Sheridan, Silver Creek, Sunset Bay and Irving for a job well done.
