One person was taken to the hospital after an accident around 427 Park Ave. in the city of Dunkirk Sunday afternoon. According to the Dunkirk Police Department, Nemesia Sanchez, 81, of Franklin Avenue was traveling south on Park Avenue from East Fourth Street around 12:15 p.m. when she struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle on the west side of the street. The parked car was subsequently pushed into a vehicle in front of it, while Sanchez's car bounced off the parked vehicle and continued south on Park Avenue, crossing east and going up and over the curb. The vehicle reportedly came to a rest after striking a tree. Sanchez was charged with failure to keep right. The Dunkirk Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance also responded.
