On June 28, 2014, the Gates of Heaven opened and accepted a new angel, Ann B. Johnson.
She was born on September 27, 1932 in Dunkirk, New York, to the late Angeline and Thomas Sammartino.
She was a homemaker all of her life and also was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church of Brocton, New York. She is survived by her husband Charles W. Johnson, whom she married on August 31, 1974.
Ann was the devoted and loving mother to Robert N. (Denise) Bailey of Chandlier, Arizona, and Lisa (Scott) Brisley of Brocton, New York. She was the loving stepmother to David (Caroline) Johnson of Brocton, New York, and Cindy (Warren) Erdle of Dunkirk, New York. Adored Nana to Ashley (fiance, Jim Karalus) Baker, Christian R. Bailey and Makayla Brisley and step-Nana to Brandon (fiancee, Sarah) Tarnowski and Kari (Jeff) Potter. Great Nana to to Nataleigh, Wyatt and Nolan. Ann was also survived by her loving sister Mary (late Louis) Matteo of Mesa, Arizona, Francis (William) Sayers of Fredonia, New York, and many nieces and nephews, their families and countless friends. Also surviving was her tiny faithful companion, Lola.
Ann was predeceased by the late Joseph (late Bessie) Sammartino, the late Grace (late Frank) Dolce and the late Michael Sammartino.
Ann selflessly devoted her life to her family that she dearly loved and her cherished friends. Her shining, loving smile will remain in our hearts forever. We Love You.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church in Brocton, New York, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014. The Rev. Joseph Walters will officiate.
The family will be present at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. in Brocton, New York, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
