Deer Street disturbance

July 1, 2014
Observer Today

Multiple police departments were kept busy in the city of Dunkirk late Monday night after responding to a report of about 20 to 25 people engaging in a fight on the 500 block of Deer Street. The Dunkirk, Chautauqua County and New York State police all responded to the incident, which took some time to quell. Yelling and screaming could clearly be heard around the immediate area, and many people stepped out of their homes to see what the commotion was all about. At least one person was taken into custody in connection with the incident, with more arrests possible. By press time, the Dunkirk Police Department was still dealing with the incident and could not comment on what happened.
