Sharon J. Seiter, 74, of Central Avenue, Fredonia, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 17, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Mayville, on June 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Wilson and Violet (Hess) Leach.
Sharon was a graduate of the former Mayville High School. She worked as a Cashier for FSA at SUNY Fredonia for 12 years and she had previously worked for the former Fredonia Office Supply for 20 years. Mrs. Seiter was a member of American Legion Post 59 and the Beaver Club, both of Fredonia. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren most of all.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa R. (James) Moch, of Fredonia, a son, Richard W. (Cindy) Scharf Jr., of Denver, Colo., a stepson, Scott (Cindy) Seiter, three sisters, Shirley (James) Sanderson, Sandy Leach and Lynnell Ellis, all of Westfield, two brothers, Bill (Karen) Leach, of Dunkirk, and Steve Leach, of Westfield. Also surviving are four grandchildren, David (Nevia) Moch, Jennifer Moch, Madison Scharf and Graelyn Scharf, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley S. Seiter, whom she married April 26, 1974 in St. John's United Church of Christ and who died Sept. 25, 2000.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Fredonia Beaver Club, 64 Prospect St. in Fredonia. Burial will be private at the Burnham Hollow Cemetery.
