Fredonia's Maggie Mignoli slides safely into home against Seneca Falls, during 11-12-year-old Section 1 Little League softball tournament action Sunday at the Ed Eagan Complex, in Fredonia. The Fredonia All-Stars defeated Seneca Falls, 10-3, behind the one-hit, six-strikeout performance of Sydney Bigelow in the circle. She walked three, but set the pace, as she retired the first 10 hitters she faced while also adding a single at the plate. Leading the way offensively for Fredonia were Grace Mroczka (3 for 4, including a double) and Kelly Gullo (2 for 4), while Emily Smith, Maggie Mignoli and Tess Corell all singled in the win. Defensively for Fredonia, catcher Mignoli threw out two would-be base-stealers while at second base, Amri Bauza had six putouts. Fredonia plays Pittsford today at 6 p.m., at the Eagan Complex. The winner of the game advances to the state tournament, which will be held at the Ed Wisniewski Complex at Wright Park, in Dunkirk. The state tournament begins Wednesday.
