The Lakeshore and Chadwick Bay Chapters of NYS Women Inc. met jointly at Shorewood Country Club for an awards dinner and the installation of 2014-2015 officers. Past state presidents Dorothy Mangano, Mary Stelley and Sue Mager as well as Ruthann Rocque, Director of Region VIII were present.
Rocque presented years of service certificates to members of both chapters.
Mangano, a Lakeshore Chapter member for 59 years, was presented with a replica of a plaque honoring her in the Book of Lives and Legacies displayed at the National Women's Hall of Fame at Seneca Falls, N.Y. She was the 1982-1983 President of Business and Professional Women's Clubs of New York State (now NYS Women, Inc.) and the 1956-1958 president of Silver Creek Business and Professional Women's Club of NYS (now Lakeshore Chapter, NYS Women, Inc.). She also served as trustee for the village of Silver Creek for 20 years and was very active in the Silver Creek community for many years.

Other Lakeshore members honored were Marissa Metzger for 10 years of service and Mary Stelley for 34 years of service. Chadwick Bay members honored were Nancy Steffan for 30 years and Kathy Reed, Teri Pacos and Mariann Serio each for 20 years of service.
Mager presided over the installation of officers. Lakeshore officers are: Mary Stelley, president; Dr. Estelle Crino, vice president, Ruthann Rocque, secretary, and Pamela Mullen, treasurer. Chadwick Bay officers are: Donnie Hover, president; Connie Wojcinski, 1st vice president; Karen Crowe, 2nd vice president; Joan Houck,secretary; Nancy Steffan, corresponding secretary; and Terri Pacos, treasurer.
Both of the local chapters of NYS Women Inc. are recruiting members. Not only do local chapters do community work but they also foster the success of local women in the workforce; offering career advancement resources, helpful work/life strategies, leadership development, and personal and professional connections. NYS Women Inc. offers a network for women's empowerment; insight into the balance of work and family; opportunity to build leadership capability; and a forum to develop personal and professional skills.
The members of Chadwick Bay are to bring a friend to the group's September meeting to introduce them to the organization.
