GOWANDA - Donald L. "Bud" Crandall, age 80, of Prospect Street passed away Saturday afternoon August 10, 2014 at the Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by family.
Bud was born at home in the Town of Concord on February 1, 1934, the son of Willis and Maude (Goodemote) Crandall.
Donald honorably served his country with the United States Army. He married the former Dorothy Macakanja at St. Stephens Serbian Orthodox Church in Lackawanna on January 10 ,1970, Dorothy survives.
Surviving, besides his wife of 44 years, are 2 children, daughter Janet Lancaster of Otto, NY and son Jason Crandall of Lakeland Fla.; and grandchildren Kearsten Pipkins and Matthew Lancaster, along with sister Evelyn (late Joseph) Lightcap of Springville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a brother, Willis Crandall; and 2 sisters Norine (William) Lux and Helen (Joseph) Goodemote.
Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St. Gowanda (716)-532-4200 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Donald's funeral will be held Friday August 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Center St. Gowanda with the Rev. David Noves officiating, Interment to follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hamburg, NY. Memorials may be made to the BG Hospice, c/o Buffalo General Hospital 100 High St., Buffalo, NY 14203 or to a local SPCA or Animal Shelter of one's choice.
