CASSADAGA - The Labor Day weekend is soon approaching, and the village of Cassadaga has set plans for the events that weekend
On Saturday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m., the village parade will begin at the Frisbee Road area and continue on Maple Avenue towards the Firehall. Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade, and the speaker's stand will be located about half way through the parade. Village deputy mayor Jeff Frick will be this year's master of ceremony for the parade. Mayor LeeAnn Lazarony is sending out invitations to surrounding towns and organizations inviting them to participate in the parade. Trustee Mike Lehnen said the village wants this to be a community parade, and if someone wants to walk with a dog in the parade, or ride a bike, the village will welcome them.
When the parade concludes at the Cassadaga firehall on Mill Street, hot dogs and pop will be served by the firemen to everyone at no charge. Prior to the parade, the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 will hold their annual clam and corn roast at the legion from noon until 4 p.m. All are welcome.
