This is a test to se if non subscribers can still communicate on relevant topics through this forum
Hummmmmmm.....test: is anyone still alive out there?
Vote Trump. This should get a response.:)
It wouldn't be the same without you krasnitz and Jo. People are more important than politics (most of the time).
Thanks for the tip Carlaw. May the games continue with vivid insights, raging outrage and hilarious non-sequiturs. Cheers
Rumblefish .. I enjoy your insight and "out" sight as well! I'll play!
ah, now we're hearing from the other side of the coin, let the games begin: Niebelj
Yes this will work for a bit. Christopher, be patient I enjoy your insight! Also, thanks Carla : )
Yeah! I think we're back in business fish, at least for a little while.
we have NEVER lost sleep over any posted comment, we were just letting you know, and supporting your comment on having more than one commenter name
fish: after you pointed out that we were "dissed" on Topix, I went there to see what was actually written. Believe me, I won't lose any sleep over it. I have no doubt that his opinion of us is worth just as much as what he has to say about anything.
Captain: we see that we are being dished on Dunkirk Topix, by a poster who we don't recall my just solidify your point on having more than one handle, rest assured we have only one, and one is plenty enough, by the way they linked you with us, go figure
carlaw: thanks for the comp, and though we may have our differences, you've always been a respectable poster with many worthy views. Cut & paste is a good idea, but due to space limitations, I can easily foresee the birth of "online editors" or an intentional manipulation of a story just to support a biased opinion. As I said, I'll hang around (at least for a little while) to see how things turn out, but I'm not very optimistic.
fish: you're right about the agree/disagree button, it was absolutely meaningless, and I guess what irked me most was adults resorting to creating multiple accts just so they could "vote" against a particular post, or to support one of their own, sometimes even complimenting their own post using a different name? This is about as juvenile as one can get.
the other nice feature of this, is no agree disagree button, if are pro or con, you have to post your opinion or rebuttal which makes for a better debate of issue
more than one way to skin a cat, this will work till computer geniuses at paper block it out
Oh no Captain, you are one of my favorites, but as usual you are right. However, if some kind soul would copy and paste actual script here for us to read we could comment as best as we could. Also Chautauqua Today is a good site to get some of the same facts. Maybe this is also an opportunity for the Star (free subscription) to go on line with important issues. I think (my opinion only) that people communicating with Each other is more important than the news sometimes.
Paul: it may satisfy you to be able to comment on specific articles, but if non-subscribers are still prohibited from responding to your comments, then what's the point? The OBSERVER has deliberately ended the online debates that has existed, and the "regular gang" has enjoyed, for the last several years.
Yes carlaw, we can start threads using this link, but we can't respond to the content contained in news articles. Many of us speculate too much already b/c news articles often don't contain all the facts. Starting a thread and offering an opinion based on a headline only wouldn't hold my interest.
I am sorry to hear that Christopher I totally respect your opinions on many issues that we start by disagreement. Insight to other opinions is the first step in finding solutions to problems that affect us all.
Not being able to read both newspapers without a subscription to both will make it difficult to understand the issues in different parts of the county.
It makes no difference to me, Carlaw. I'm a paid subscriber and if they can't fix their issues with this poorly thought out and even more poorly executed plan, I'm out of here.
