What amazes me is that even though many people favor selling the home, including the CCLeg, many of these same people quickly acknowledge that taxes will NOT go down any? CCLeg's motive is obvious, it wants its hands on the sale proceeds to spend elsewhere.
On the flip side, I can't figure out for the life of me WHY residents support less services and NO savings, unless their hatred for unions is so deep it prevents logical thinking. In this respect, Chat Co voters are clearly a unique bunch, and therefore deserve the type of representation they're getting. Even members of the CCLeg are saying: "this is just too easy!"

PR24601..have you bothered to read the report that clearly states the CC operates on a SURPLUS.
It further states that our elected leaders and the media continue to mislead us on the costs.
Yes, it does include the IGT funds. Who cares? You don't think our federal taxes will decrease if we do not take that money do you?
Good grief...people still have not read the report yet continue to call for the sale based on un truths.
By the way...where is the out cry over the half of million to drill a gas well that sits there idle?
Oh never mind...found out NO ONE cares about that wasted money.
Money talks..bull walks...

"believe noting that you here and read and half of what you see" fate of home will rest on that, in other words W.G.A.S.
Sorry, do not prey on them.

Excuse me, but having watched funds tick down for the 8 years the Republicans had their hero as President, I'd be careful about calling anyone else a Dumbo. Private owners, ie; investors know well how to obtain funds from the gov't programs supporting nursing homes and other medical facilities they have invested in as well. Pray for those living in these homes. Do not pray on them.

Eliminate ALL Town Governments. (WON'T happen!)Divide the county into 4 districts with one Superintendent and centralized Personnel and Business offices. (WON'T happen!)Place a minimum population number for any entity to exist as a Village or City, and allow cities to annex suburbs. (WON'T happen!!!) Eliminate ALL Authorities!(WON'T happen!!) It's a joke to call for consolidation as the State Constitution won't allow most of what people are calling for and nobody in power wants to allow a Constitutional Convention as then EVERYTHING is up for grabs, so to speak. Look around, save your money, move away as soon as you can, or just learn to live with it. Nobody is going to fix anything!

I don't see how we have any choice. We have been identified as one of the highest taxed counties in the entire country. We need to make sure that when the home is sold the savings are used wisely and not squandered on other programs. Welfare reform is also essential along with a total restructuring of local government. We don't need 27 towns, 15 villages, 2 cities, 7 full time law enforcement agencies and 18 school districts in a county of only 133,000 residents. Re-structuring is not an option, it is a necessity is we are ever to return to a mode of growth and prosperity.

commentor - absolutely. But you know darn well our taxes wouldn't go down as a result. They'd see those line items as bonus "income" and give it to someone else. Themselves, public employees, and the scumbags.

judeye - is it "greed" to ask the county not to waste OUR hard-earned tax dollars? Is it "greed" to ask them to try and balance the nursing home budget?
What happens to you if you can't balance your household budget and pay for your house? The bank repossesses it and sells it to someone else who hopefully can. Is that "greed" on the bank's part to ask you to repay YOUR loan?
Anytime the conservatives do something that makes fiscal sense, the nitwit liberals like judeye label it "greed". It's not greed, it's called business sense. If the dumbo Demo's had any sense of it the country wouldn't be in such a financial mess.

Yes the new Cty Ex is for it and the new number for a sale is lower and there are enough Legislator's that voted yes. Now the question is did the two best buyer's get away??? The next thing the Cty should sell are the airports. The Cty absolutely should not be in the air port business!!! Tax payers should press this issue. With the Cty out of all of these businesses MAYBE our taxes could be reduced. Of course the biggest job for them is cut the spending habits!!!!
