Maybe the question should have been..What do you think of lawyers?

...and we see all day and night long on TV of all the lawyer's commercials to come see them for your next lawsuit.

To Phil’s point about the 1/3 for attorneys, don’t ever try to hire one “by the hour” to represent you in a personal injury claim, even when the other party is (clearly) 100% at fault and it’s a slam dunk.
No one will take your case – they all want 1/3, even for the simplest of claims.
Here’s a GREAT example of legal malfeasance and fraud: the spurious and colluded claims in the BP oil spill settlement – read former FBI Director Louis Freeh’s report.

Yes. A company I represented was sued for $2.5M by a county employee who hit a culvert with his snowplow. His wife also sued for $250k for “loss of companionship.”
Turns out . . . he was driving on the wrong side of the road, driving at imprudent speed in a white-out, and had no training in how to operate the equipment. The suit was tossed.

No and I hope I never am involved. The system is designed and intended to feed the financial appetites of the legal community. There is no justice in our legal system where lawyers typically get one-third of the proceeds, insurance companies are the "cash cow" while those who pay for insurance are the true victims.
