Wednesday Ladies — (Aug. 23) Low scores: Michelle Helmer 44, Jodi Hoffman 49, Linnea Nichols 50, Janice Wintersteen 50, Mary Kelley 51, Melissa Kelly 51 and Linda Roos 51. The team of Cam Lawton and Gayle McKinney scored the low team net with 28. Skins went to Mary Kelley for a birdie on No. 16 and to Donna Frost for a par on No. 17. Hoffman was closest to the pin on No. 15, Brenda Swanson won the card game and Debbie McCown won the 50/50. Personal season best recognition went to Mary Kelley (individual net 6 under par). The year-end banquet will be held on Sept. 6. Subs interested in attending should contact a league member or the club.

Vineyards Golf League

The Wednesday Night League had their final golf outing of the 2017 season last night followed by a steak dinner with all the trimmings and money prizes awarded to all golfers that were in the league. The top two teams for the season: 1st place: John Chabuel and Joe Kulig with 69.5 points; 2nd place with 65.5 points was Charlie Reinhardt and Jim Sedota. We want to thank Rich Mancuso the owner of the Vineyards for keeping the golf course in excellent shape, especially the greens which were plush and as green as could be. The league will continue for the 2018 season and our looking to add more players. If interested contact Rich at the Vineyards at 672-7888. We will also have a notice in the paper in the spring with more information for the upcoming season.

Fumble Bowling League meeting

The Fumble Bowling League will have its annual meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Lucky Lanes. All returning team captains and any new teams or bowlers are urged to attend. Any questions feel free to call Connie at 672-9588 or Marie at 366-8412. Bowling will start on Sept. 6.

Lancaster Sets Schedule for 29th Annual U.S. Open Weekend

LANCASTER — Lancaster National Speedway is ready to once again host the biggest party of the racing season with the 29th running of U.S. Open weekend, September 22-24.

Western New York’s racing finale kicks off on Friday night, Sept. 22, with the traditional practice session and U.S. Open Kickoff Party. Pit gates open and inspection begins at 4 p.m. with practice for all divisions taking place from 6-9:30 p.m. The grandstand gates will open at 5:30, and fans will be allowed to enter for free to watch practice.

Saturday’s racing action will be headlined by the 75 lap main event for the Sunoco Sportsman.

Pit gates open on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with practice beginning and front gates opening at noon. Heat racing starts at 2 p.m.

Driver registration forms for the U.S. Open are available on the Lancaster National Speedway website. Ticket pricing for U.S. Open weekend will be announced shortly. Camping for the U.S. Open will continue to remain free.
