Westfield Little League

Westfield Little League is holding its first meeting for the 2017 season on Dec. 11.

It will take place at 6 p.m. above Triple Crown Sports Cards in Westfield. Anyone interested in volunteering their time or joining the board is urged to attend.

Dunkirk Elks Lodge

to Host Hoop Shoot

The Dunkirk Elks Lodge No. 922 will hold its annual Hoops Shoot Contest on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The contest will be held at the Dunkirk High School auxiliary gym on Marauder drive. The contest is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 8-13.

The groups are as follows: 8-9; 10-11; and 12-13.

The hours for the contest will be 9-11:30 a.m. and contestants must wear gym-type shoes and have a copy of their birth certificate with them.

NCSA Annual Board Meeting Set for Nov. 29

The annual meeting of members of the Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m., at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street in Fredonia.

The following agenda will be discussed: approve minutes from Oct. 27; introduction of officers; treasurer’s report; review of seasons (spring travel, house league and fall travel); changes for upcoming 2017 season; by-laws; and announce vacancies.

Adult Hockey

CCHA Open A League

P-Dubs 7, BJ’s 4 — Ron Pachol, Mike Burnett, Steven Meyers, Dave Wright, Mike Rozewicz, Derek Sheridan and Josh Polak all scored for P-Dubs while assists went to Rozewicz (3), Meyers (2), Wright and Jeff Huyck. AJ Riforgiat was the winning goalie.

For BJ’s, Mark Zaffalon scored twice while Tom Coughlin and Ryan Pogorzelski also scored. Assists were credited to Don Schiedel, Pogorzelski and Zaffalon. Hans Schober suffered the loss in net.

Merritt Winery 8, Dunkirk Falcons 3 — Justin Nediceyuva, Mike Lazarony and Brian Denea scored twice in the win for Merritt Winery while Bill Clark and Jerry Tramuta also found the back of the net.

Assists went to Nediceyuva (3), Chris Schurr (2), Tramuta (2), Lazarony and Mike Paradis. Mike Barrett was between the pipes for the win.

Ben Nickle, Justin Giles and Cory Dziduch all scored for Dunkirk Falcons while Dziduch (2) and Adam Woelfle picked up assists. AJ Riforgiat was the losing goalie.

CCHA C League

Coughlan’s 2, Kosciuszko Club 1 — Mark Weimer and Steve Gromala scored for Coughlan’s while Dan Robinson (2) and Dan Walawender earned the assists. John Devine picked up the win between the pipes.

For the Kosciuszko Club, Frank Leonard scored on assists from Eric Flitt and Alex Nuggiro. Brendon Smith was the losing goalie.

Southern Tier 5, Wicked Glen 1 — Ryan Simon and Joe Hallmark Jr. scored two goals each in the Southern Tier win while Tommy Yacone scored the other. Assists went to David Hallmark (2), Josh Eppinger, Rick

Simon, Chris Tallchief and Marry Willow. Bernard Jakiela picked up the win in net.

Meanwhile, for Wicked Glen, Andy Davidson scored the lone goal on assists from Drew Carriero and David Srzibl. Nate Williams was the losing goalie.

Heenan’s 4, Beaver Club 2 — Jeff Huyck scored a pair of goals in the win for Heenan’s while Bob Traska and Ron Pachol added the others. Don Bley was credited with an assists while Gary Shain earned the win between the pipes.

For the Beaver Club, Tony Manzella and Chris Mackrell scored while Ed Paluch and Mike Krauza earned the assists. Shane Randolph was the losing netminder.
