Gowanda wrestling team

Members of the Gowanda Panthers wrestling team are looking to attend a training camp this summer.

The camp is held at Edinboro College in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. The Team Camp is held from June 25-29.

This camp is designed for serious wrestling teams looking to broaden their wrestling skills. The unique camp blends techniques from the warm-up to the post-match analysis and is provided by top notch collegiate coaches, nationally recognized high school coaches, current elite athletes and even a four-time Olympic medalist.

The support from the community will help the Gowanda wrestlers make camp a reality.

The cost of a breakfast is $5. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased from any wrestler.

There will also be a youth wrestling NYWAY tourney going on during the breakfast.

Fredonia to host boys high school Futsal tournament

The Fredonia Blue Devils will host a Futsal tournament on Sunday, March 12 at Steele Hall.

The game is played on a 70×55-yard fieldhouse surface and consists of six players per side, including a goalie.

A minimum top two teams in each division will make the playoffs with three games guaranteed for each team.

The games are 20 minutes long.

First-place winners receive a Dry-Fit T-shirt. There will also be an All-Tournament team.

Players must be currently in high school.

Dunkirk baseball

seeks donations

The Dunkirk varsity baseball team is once again traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to participate in the Mingo Bay High School Baseball Tournament from April 7-15.

The tournament allows the players to play against teams from several states along the East Coast in preparation for the season.

The friends of Dunkirk baseball are asking for support from the community in the form of a monetary donation which will be used to help defray the cost of any and all expenses incurred while in South Carolina. As a contributor/sponsor, the organization’s name will appear on the 2017 Sponsor Board which will hang on the visitor’s side dugout at Al Stuhlmiller Field during the season.

Levels of contributions are as follows:

Friends of Dunkirk Baseball, $50; Base Hit Club, $100; Doubles Club $250; Triples Club, $500; Home Run Club, $750; and Grand Slam Club $1,000.
