Dunkirk Baseball comedy night

Nick Siracuse and friends will put on a comedy show Saturday, March 11 at the Dunkirk Moose Lodge.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the show slated to start at 7 p.m.

A cash bar and menu will be available, along with a Chinese auction and 50/50.

Donations are gladly accepted. Tickets are available at The Moose Lodge, Matt’s News and any varsity parent. Tickets are also available through varsity coach Frank Jagoda, by calling 785-4313.

The fundraiser is being used to help defray the cost of the Myrtle Beach Spring Baseball trip.

NCSA Concord Spring Soccer

The NCSA Concord FC Spring Travel Soccer registration is now open. Anyone who is ready for a more serious soccer experience should consider playing spring travel soccer. Commencing this year, registration is online only. It is very important to sign up as soon as possible because teams have to be declared by Friday.

Financial aid is available. Age divisions and registration fees are: 9 years old and under, co-ed (birth years 2008-2010) is $120, 11 and under, co-ed (2006-07) is $130, 13 and under, co-ed (2004-05) is $145, 15 and under, boys (2002-03) is $155, 18 and under, boys (1999-2001) is $165.

Uniforms are $70. Also this year we have independent tournament teams for the 13U Girls, 13U Boys, 15U Girls, and 18U Girls divisions. The season begins the weekend of April, 21, 2017. Practices start around mid-March. Please contact Chris Witkowski,, with any questions.

Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association Tournament

The Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association has scheduled its second Annual Women’s Doubles Handicap Tournament for Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19.

The tournament will be held at Hanover Lanes in Silver Creek.

Two shifts are scheduled for Saturday (5 p.m. and 7 p.m.) with a single shift on Sunday (1 p.m.).

The tournament is USBC sanctioned, and is open to all women bowlers who certified in the DLBA this season. Entry forms and rules are available at Hanover Lanes, Chick’s Lanes, K&L Lanes, and Lucky Lanes, or can be printed from the association website:

Fredonia to host boys high school Futsal tournament

The Fredonia Blue Devils will host a Futsal tournament on Sunday, March 12 at Steele Hall.

The game is played on a 70×55-yard fieldhouse surface and consists of six players per side, including a goalie.

A minimum top two teams in each division will make the playoffs with three games guaranteed for each team.

The games are 20 minutes long.

First-place winners receive a Dry-Fit T-shirt. There will also be an All-Tournament team.

Players must be currently in high school.

Forestville Sports Club

The Forestville Sports Club will be holding 2017 softball signups for area girls ages from 6-16 on Monday, Feb. 27 from 5-7 p.m. in the Forestville Elementary cafeteria.
