Golf Tour Registration
Registration for the Art Asquith Senior Golf Tour will be held at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club on Tuesday, April 18 at 11 a.m. Registration for golfers 60 years old and older will be $20 with coffee and donuts available. The Art Asquith Senior Golf Tour has 23 matches scheduled for this year at courses around the Western New York and Western Pennsylvania area. The cost of golf, cart and light lunch is $23 and the tour has 6 flights with small prizes awarded weekly. For more information please see our website at www.sgolftour.com.
The Art Asquith Senior Tour is participating again in the “Bunkers in Baghdad” program which provides used golf equipment and golf balls to our troops. Please bring any items you wish to donate to registration.
Cattaraugus County Sports Banquet Set for April 8
The 15th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame banquet is set for Saturday, April 8 at the Little Valley Legion beginning at 6 p.m.
Twelve new members will be enshrined that evening during the awards ceremony.
This year’s class, as always, was selected based on their longevity, dedication and success in sports.
The new inductees include: Fred Caya, (Portville), Robert Jimerson, Sr. (Gowanda), D.J. Whitmore, (Salamanca), Barbara Duggan (Cattaraugus-Little Valley), Dick Edmunds, (Pioneer), Chad Lyter, (Allegany-Limestone), Bruno DeGiglio, (Olean), Susan Horton, (Ellicottville), Royce Ross, (Franklinville), Mike Williams, (West Valley) and Wayne Marsh, (Cattaraugus-Little Valley). Tommy “The Ironman” Irons (Olean) will be inducted posthumously.
Family and friends of this year’s inductees are encouraged to attend the event.

Hilbert College has announced the dates for its 2017 Boys and Girls Summer Basketball Camps.
The boys weeks are June 25-29 and July 9-13. The lone girls week is July 16-20.
Registration/check-in is on Sunday(s) between 2:30-4 p.m. and each camp concludes on Thursday(s) at 3 p.m.
Campers are given the choice of staying on campus (resident camper) in air conditioned Trinity Hall, or commuting (day camper). Day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekly. The cost for each week is $380 for resident campers and $290 for day campers.
All meals included in the cost. Register prior to June 1 and receive a $25 discount. Groups of six or more receive an additional $10 discount.
All campers will receive a personal evaluation, reversible jersey, and camp water bottle, along with the very best in individual instruction.
