Concord FC 7, FAST 1

Concord FC 11U improved to 2-0 with an impressive win at Falconer. Max Sturniolo and Carley Wilson both had two goals each. Henry Leone, Bradon Gustafson and Sam Pietro also chipped in goals for the winners. David Barrett and Jack Pietro shared goalkeeping duties, and had excellent defense in front of them with Jude Murphy being a standout. Anthony Piede had two assists playing an superb game at midfield. Sturniolo’s efforts were noticed by the other team as well, as he was awarded the Star patch for the game.

Concord FC 3, Enchanted Mountain FC 0

The season started off extremely well for Concord FC as it dominated play most of the game. Max Sturniolo had a two goals; his second half tally a skillful strike from outside the 18. Eli Greenough had the other goal for Concord. Jack Pietro and David Barrett had the clean sheet, each playing goalkeeper a half and helping out the cause by playing center back a half also. Henry Leone and Haylee Babar had great games at center midfield and outside back respectively. Sam Pietro earned the Star patch.

John Brinkley lead the way for the first night of league with a 39 followed by Gary Arnold 40, Kris Kane 40, Scott Jagoda 41, Brandon Presto 42 and Jon Coe Jr. with a 43. Closest to the pins were won by Jagoda #4 and Jon Espersen #7. Low net was tied at a net 32 from Kane and Coe Jr.

One Small KICK kickball tournament in Silver Creek

One Small KICK kickball tournament for Prader Willi Syndrome will be held Sunday, July 16 at Silver Creek Middle School. For one small.

Sign-in starts at 9 a.m. Games start at 10 a.m.

The kickball tournament supports One SMALL Step for PWS, international walks/events benefits The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR).

$200 per team of 8-12 players. $20 per player if individual.

Babe Ruth World Series Spaghetti

Dinner and Basket Raffle

The Jamestown Babe Ruth World Series Board of Directors is pleased to announce that they are having a Spaghetti Dinner and Basket Raffle to benefit the Babe Ruth World Series, which is scheduled to take place in Jamestown in 2018 and 2020. The dinner will be held at Saint James Church on May 6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $8 per adult and $5 per child. Tickets are available presale from any Board Member or will be available at the door. There will also be take-out available.

The 2018 16-18 year old World Series will be the 17th World Series Jamestown has hosted since 1980. 2018 will bring the 40th Anniversary of the 13 Year Old World Series. We are looking forward to organizing and creating another great series here in Jamestown. We could not make this possible without all of the support from the community and the help we have received from our sponsors and partners.

Vineyard Golf League

Attention all golfers that have signed up and also other golfers that may be interested in playing for the newly formed Wednesday night league at the Vineyards Golf Course. We will begin league play on May 10th at 5pm. There will be a practice round next Wednesday May 3rd with a shotgun start at 5 pm. Please make every effort to attend the practice round as we will also go over league rules and answer any questions. This will be a 36 man league with 2 person teams and handicap scoring. There is also a league fee which is for prizes and a banquet dinner after the last week of golf. There are a few more spots available and if you do not have a partner and our interested we will pair you up with another single golfer. If interested please contact Bob Manning @ 679-5799 or John Lakas @ 679-6890 and there is also a sign up sheet at the Vineyards Golf Course.

Union Relief Annual Golf Tournament

Union Relief will be holding their 11th Annual Golf Tournament “Golfing for Gifts” on May 20th, 2017 at Pinehurst Golf Course in Westfield. The tournament will begin at 8:00 am with registration and a Shotgun start; “scramble” format – tee time at 9:00 am.

The cost is $60 per person with a team of four required. Included are prizes, snacks, and a catered luncheon by Triana Catering of Westfield following the competition.

LaPorte Farm Equipment and Bristol Burgess Insurance Agency have donated a Cub Cadet riding lawn mower for the Hole-in-one prize.

All proceeds go to Union Relief for its Christmas project and to the organization’s support of children and families throughout the year.

A tremendous response last year helped Union Relief to exceed the organization’s goal.

Current and potential sponsors are invited to join this year in exceeding the goal by sponsoring a golf hole.

New sponsors are asked to contribute $100 (this covers the cost of creating signage) and returning sponsors are asked to contribute $75. Sponsorship will be promoted on all marketing materials, including sign on tee box, press releases, etc.
