Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association Tournament Leaderboard
With one week down and one to go, the leader board at the Dunkirk Lakeshore Bowling Association continues to change with nearly every shift bowled. In team event, Hanover Lanes enjoyed some home field advantage and currently leads the Handicap Team event with a score of 3,614. Elliott Adamski was the star of the show and fired a 609 series (855 handicap) to lead the team while Buster Azzarella added a 544 series (724 handicap). Bob’s Lawn Care, from Chick’s Lanes is currently 2nd with a score of 3,462. Jeff Papke fired a 569 series (746 handicap) to lead his team while Bob Paterson Jr. added a 629 series (701 handicap).
In doubles, Roy Dailey & Dave Gabel from Hanover Lanes leads the handicap division with scores of 1,417 while Mike Krzemien & Brian Schulz lead the way in the scratch division with a score of 1,318. Keith Wells & Josh Dixon are currently second in handicap with a score of 1,409.
In singles, Scott Chaplin from Chick’s Lanes and Brad Bixby from K & L Lanes leads the handicap division with a score of 748. In the scratch division, Brad Bixby leads with a score of 748 and his brother Derek Bixby is second with a score of 706.
In all-events, Jack Reading from Lucky Lanes currently leads the handicap division with a score of 2,122. Brian Schulz, representing K & L Lanes is currently second in the handicap division with a score of 2,072. Brian Schulz leads the scratch division with a score of 2,009.
Action continues weeknights at 6:30 p.m., weekends at Noon p.m. and 2:45 p.m. and concludes on Saturday, May 13th with the 5:15 p.m. shift.
Night Golf League
The Wednesday Night Golf League will meet and do a practice round at 5 p.m. on May 10 at the Vineyards Golf Course. There will be a short meeting after golf to discuss rules and any questions you may have. There are still a few spots open if interested. There is a sign up sheet at the Vineyards Club House or you can call Bob Manning at 679-5799 or John Lakas at 679-6890.
One Small KICK kickball tournament in Silver Creek
One Small KICK kickball tournament for Prader Willi Syndrome will be held Sunday, July 16 at Silver Creek Middle School. For one small.
Sign-in starts at 9 a.m. Games start at 10 a.m.
The kickball tournament supports One SMALL Step for PWS, international walks/events benefits The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR).
$200 per team of 8-12 players. $20 per player if individual.

The Dunkirk Moose Thursday Night Golf league will hold an organizational meeting at the Dunkirk Moose on Wednesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. All members and interested golfers should attend.
The league plays at the Vineyards Golf Course.
Anyone who cannot make the meeting or has any questions about the league should call Rick Mazurek at 366-6835. Weather permitting, league play is set to begin Thursday, May 11.
Tuesday Night Golf League at Hillview
There will be a meeting for the Tuesday night men’s golf league at Hillview Golf Course on Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at the Moniuszko Club.
Drawings for teams will be held and all league members are encouraged to attend. For any questions, call Ange at 785-9051.
Gowanda Youth Soccer begins May 11
The Gowanda co-ed youth soccer program for children ages 5 – 14 will be held on five consecutive Thursday nights beginning May 11. Previous soccer experience is not mandatory. Each session will run from 6 to 7:30 pm. The total cost is $15 per child with a family cap of $30. Call program director Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Babe Ruth World Series Spaghetti Dinner/Basket Raffle
The Jamestown Babe Ruth World Series Board of Directors is pleased to announce that they are having a Spaghetti Dinner and Basket Raffle to benefit the Babe Ruth World Series, which is scheduled to take place in Jamestown in 2018 and 2020. The dinner will be held at Saint James Church on May 6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $8 per adult and $5 per child. Tickets are available presale from any Board Member or will be available at the door. There will also be take-out available.
The 2018 16-18 year old World Series will be the 17th World Series Jamestown has hosted since 1980. 2018 will bring the 40th Anniversary of the 13 Year Old World Series. We are looking forward to organizing and creating another great series here in Jamestown.
