Fredonia Blue Devil Summer Basketball Camp

Chautauqua Hurricanes Basketball Camp
The Chautauqua Hurricanes basketball organization is hosting a June 30 registration event for youth participants in Brocton at Brocton Central School near the high school gym from 3 to 5 p.m. Area youth participants can also register on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army located at 704 Central Avenue in Dunkirk.
The three-day basketball camp will be held for ages 8 through 16 for boys and girls from July 10-12 and July 24-26. Girls will practice from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by boys from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost will be $50 per camper, which is nonrefundable and will include a camp T-shirt.
The Hurricanes will also be sponsoring a 3-on-3 tournament for grades 4-12, which is held separately from the camp and will cost $40 to enter.

Vineyards Golf Course
Friday Night Couples League — Due to the rain we had last Friday, we will try and start up the couples’ league June 30. This is an adults-only league. We will have a shotgun start at 5 p.m. with food and prizes after the round is completed. Please sign up at the Vineyards no later than Thursday or you can call the course at 672-7888 to be put on the list. Chautauqua Golf Club
Chautauqua Golf Club Pro-Am (June 26) — Dwayne Randall, Peek’n Peak Resort, and Ryan Swanson of Pinehurst Golf Club, tied for low professional honors at the Chautauqua Golf Club Pro-Am with 4-under-par scores of 68. Tied for third were Kirk Stauffer, Pine Acres C.C. and J.A. Sutherland, from Country Club of Buffalo with 2-under-par (70). Tied for fifth were Tim Fries, Transit Valley C.C. and Jeff Urzetta, Oak Hill C.C. with one under par 71s. The winning Pro-Am team with a 25-under-par score of 119 was J.A. Sutherland, Bill Bernard, Scott Crist and E. Ann Knepshield.
