WNY Assistants Golf Tournament
Eric Thompson, Assistant Professional at the Kahkwa Club, won the WNY Assistants Tournament at his home course with a four-over par-76 in a wind and rain filled competition. Second-place went to Jake Eckley, Tri County Country Club with 77 and Jevin Johnson, Moon Brook Country Club, finished third with 79.

Shults Auto Group Hole-In-One Challenge
Westfield — The Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce Shults Auto Group as the Hole-In-One sponsor for the WMHF’s 25th Annual Golf Tournament to be held on Friday, July 14. The Hole-In-One contest offers amateur golfers participating in the tournament the opportunity to compete for a chance to win a 2017 Chevy Cruze. This fun and exciting silver anniversary event will be held on the Lake Course at the Chautauqua Golf Club.
There are still openings available for those who want to join in the fun and support our community hospital’s latest project. The proceeds from the event will benefit the hospital foundation’s $650,000 RED (Renovate our Emergency Department) Campaign. Baseball showcase to scout local talent
BUFFALO — New Era Cap Northeast Baseball Showcase 2017 will be at the Koessler Center at Canisius College on July 13, 2017. The showcase is available for Western New York athletes that want to demonstrate their baseball talents for Division I, II and III college baseball coaches as well as Major League Baseball scouts, according to the release.
The players will be evaluated in their primary and secondary positions. Players could hear directly from top college coaches during the advisory board Q&A. Mike McRae of Canisius, Rob McCoy of Niagara University and Matt Clingersmith of Niagara County Community College will all be in attendance.

2017 Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament
The 2017 tournament is set for Saturday, September 9, at Hillview/Vineyards golf courses in Fredonia. There will be prizes and/or games at each hole.
The registration fee of $65 per golfer includes food on the courses and dinner at the Kosciuszko Club.
Times for GTMGT being with registration at 9 a.m., shotgun start at 10 a.m. and dinner and awards at 4 p.m.

Money raised from the past tournaments have been used to establish an annual Gary Tripp colorectal cancer research fund at Roswell Park, an annual GTMGT Dunkirk High School scholarship and an annual donation to the GTMGT SUNY Fredonia scholarship.
Track & Field
The Chautauqua Jets track and field team have a youth and development program for kids in grades 5-8, to help better their skills and techniques. The program targets local Dunkirk boys and girls, but all Chautauqua County athletes are welcome to join.
Registration will be held on Thursday, July 6, at 7 p.m. at Dunkirk High School. At registration, youths will be required to pay a $20 USA Track and Field (USATF) membership fee along with a copy of their birth certificates. If for any reason a youth cannot pay the $20 fee, they can receive membership fee assistance — no youth will be turned away as a result of the fee.
The program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays for six weeks, culminating into a special event that will be held August 11.
