Dave Mathews won for the third time this season, posting the low round of 74 at Shorewood Country Club. He led both the front nine (36) and back nine(38) and earned his 15th career tour victory.

Ed Tofil finished second with 80, with Adam Gornikiewicz and Robert Calph tied for third with 82 each. Gornikiewicz’s round was his low career round in league play.

In the B Flight, Rod Sechrist won on a tiebreaker over John Waterman and Mike Wolfe. In the C Flight, Wayne Ormsby won on a tiebreaker over Gary Haase. John Tofil was the D Flight Champion.

The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Lee Titus.

This week the league plays Chautauqua Golf Club’s Hill Course. The first tee time is at 9 a.m. Interested golfers should call/text John at 785-2291 by 6 p.m. Monday to sign up. On the following Wednesday, Sept. 20, the league will hold its Third Annual Commissioner’s Cup, honoring the memory of late friend and fellow golfer Bruce “Java” Chrabasz. The event will take place at Chautauqua Golf Club’s Lake Course. Golfers can sign up with John for the Commissioner’s Cup from now until Monday, Sept. 18.
