Submitted Photo Tim Bulger (left) and Todd Fenton are the 2017 Cassadaga Country Club Member-Member champions. The 27-hole triple format handicap tournament involves 9-hole rounds involving Scramble, Best Ball and Alternate Shot formats. Following the inital scramble round, Bulger and Fenton were tied for the lead with the brother team of Dan and Brad Kelly, plus the husband-wife team of Bev and Marv Cross. The second 9 holes were a best ball score. The team of Don Meder and Chip White won the round and took a two-stroke lead at 58 into the final 9-hole alternate shot round. Bulger and Fenton won the final alternate shot round and were able to secure a three-stroke victory. Meder and White finished in second place. Brad and Dan Kelly won a scorecard playoff over the team of Scott and Jared Kowalski for third and fourth, respectively. The team of Bev and Marv Cross round out the top five finishers.

Here are the foursomes for Wednesday’s Third Annual Commissioner’s Cup, honoring the memory of our great friend and fellow golfer, Commissioner Bruce “Java” Chrabasz. The event will be played on Chautauqua Golf Club’s Lake Course and will have a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Golfers are asked to be at the course no later than 8:30, as announcements will be made and hole assignments will be given out. Festivities after golf will be at the Dunkirk (Fourth Ward) Falcons Club. Golfers are also requested to wear orange, brown, and white, the colors of Java’s favorite sports team, the Cleveland Browns.
