Dave Mathews won his second straight event, posting the low round of 75 at Chautauqua Golf Club’s Hill Course. The victory was also Mathews’ fifth of the season. Robert Calph was second with 82. Mathews and Calph each shot 38 to lead the front nine while Mathews’ 37 led the back nine.

Other flight winners were Dave Criscione(B), John Bongiovanni(C), and Dave Wallace(D). Milestone hit this week: Tim Walawender went over 1,000 career points. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Gary Hazelton.

This Wednesday, the league holds its biggest event of the season, the 3rd Annual Commissioner’s Cup, honoring the memory of our great friend and fellow golfer, Commissioner Bruce “Java” Chrabasz. There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Chautauqua Golf Club’s Lake Course. All golfers are asked to wear orange, brown and white, the colors of Java’s favorite sports team, the Cleveland Browns. Festivities after golf will be held at the Dunkirk Falcons Club. Friends of Java are encouraged to participate and can sign up by calling/texting John @ 785-2291 by noon Monday. Foursomes will be emailed by Monday evening.
