Knights defeat Oracle, 71-47

OBSERVER Staff Report

SILVER CREEK — The Black Knights defeated Oracle, a Buffalo charter school, 71-47 in a non-league high school boys basketball matchup Friday night.

Jarmani Benton poured in 25 points as the hosts cruised to boost their record to 4-1. Silver Creek led 20-12 after one quarter, 38-22 at halftime and 53-32 after three quarters.

“We’re polishing things up. The kids are learning a lot,” Black Knights coach Rob Genco said. “The more they’re buying in, the more precision we have on the offensive end… We’re a young team and just trying to keep things going.”

Benton added eight assists and six rebounds to his 25-point performance for Silver Creek. Dominic Jamison had 16 points for the team, while Braden Woleben put up 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Black Knights’ Tucker Gates had nine points and six rebounds.

Raekwon Graves and Gary Marshall each had 14 points to lead the Phoenix.

Silver Creek returns to the court Tuesday, when it hosts Forestville.
