Westfield trap team plans spaghetti dinner

The Westfield Fish and Game Club’s Youth Trap Team will be holding a spaghetti dinner on March 11 from 1 p.m. until gone. The cost is $10 for an adult and $6 for children. All proceeds go to supporting the league’s 2018 trap season, which is no longer funded by the school district.

Dunkirk Baseball Comedy Night set for March 10

The Dunkirk Baseball Comedy Night will be held Saturday, March 10 at the Dunkirk Moose Lodge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with cash bar and light menu, along with a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle. The show starts at 7:15 p.m.

Tickets for the show, which features Dan Viola, Vinni Paulino and Bob Holzworth, are $10 and can be purchased at the Moose Lodge, Matts News, from any varsity baseball parent, Ryan Corbett or Frank Jagoda at the middle school. Call 785-4313 for tickets.

Anyone wishing to donate a basket or any other item for the Chinese auction can do so by contacting Kristen Glowniak at 413-9226.

Classes for football officials to start March 12

The Southwestern Football Chapter of Certified Football Officials is offering a class for new officials. The classes begin March 12 at the Ira Lou Spring Legion in Jamestown. The classes are every Monday and Wednesday for three weeks. Classes start at 6 p.m. and end around 8 p.m. If you are interested please contact Keith Fish at 410-3508 or Dave Kolstee at 338-2803.

FHS baseball program to host clinics

The Fredonia High School Baseball program will be hosting two clinics highlighting fundamental skills on Saturday, March 17 at Fredonia High School. The 1st session (8-11 a.m.) is for children age 5-8. The 2nd session (noon-3 p.m.) is for children age 9-12.

Instruction will be provided by Fredonia High School players and coaches and will include hitting, throwing, infield and outfield defense, pitching, and base running. Catching instruction is also available. The clinic will be held indoors and will utilize three gyms, a batting cage and indoor pitching mounds. Participants are asked to wear sneakers and bring their own glove.

The cost of the clinic is $20. Each additional child, from the same family, will receive a $5 discount. All participants will receive a t-shirt. Walk-ins are welcome!
