Brocton-Portland Little League

Minor League Machine Pitch — Chautauqua Lake’s Lighthouse Grocery defeated Brocton’s Sons of the Legion 25-5. Chautauqua Lake’s offense was anchored by Ellie Ludwig, Karagan Fairbank, Tristen Gibbs, Makenna Smith and Peyton Donato who were all perfect at the plate. Brocton’s offensive standouts were Neil Bundy, Banner Bundy, Jayden Mulville, Cody Shanks and Alex Pfleuger.

Westfield’s Keyser softball tournament is June 2

WESTFIELD –The Woody Keyser Modifed Softball Tournament is slated for June 2. This year will mark the 19th annual event, which is held in Westfield.

All proceeds from this tournament go to the Woody Keyser Memorial Fund. Donations from the fund are made in Woody’s name to local youth baseball and softball leagues.

Ten-man open modified softball teams are invited to participate in this family oriented- event. There will be a $275 entry fee. The top three teams will receive prize money. First and second place winner will also receive commemorative T-shirts, which are also available for purchase.

Vineyards Golf Course has new Ladies League

A new Ladies League at the Vineyards Golf Course will start play on Wednesday, June 6, please note the day change. Name draw at 9:30 a.m. tee offs begin at 10 a.m. All skill levels are welcome, join anytime. A practice round will be played on Wednesday, May 30, tee off 10 a.m. Call the Vineyards Clubhouse at 672-7888 to sign up.

Escobar softball tourney set for June 9

The Emmanuel “Manny” Escobar Co-Ed Softball Memorial Tournament is set for Saturday, June 9 at Dunkirk’s fields (Wright Park, Koch and School No. 7).

Entry fee is $250, which includes 12 team shirts, balls and umpires. Organizers are taking the first 12 paid teams. Fees are due by Friday, June 1.

The tourney is double elimination, 7/3 format, 2-1 count with ASA approved bats only. The first place team will win $600, the second place squad gets $400 and the third place club gets $100.

Food, non-alcoholic beverages and T-shirts will be on sale. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

United Way’s Golf Classic June 15 at Tri-County

The United Way of Northern Chautauqua County invites you to its fifth annual Golf Classic, Friday, June 15, at Tri-County Country Club, 540 Route 39, Forestville. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost is $125 per person — includes 18 holes of golf, cart and greens fee, tee gift, lunch and dinner. All proceeds benefit the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County, 13 community partners, and impact over 24 programs. One Ball Tournament for Testicular Cancer set

The 6th Annual One Ball Tournament for Testicular Cancer returns to Willis Hale Town Park in Frewsburg on June 23. The whiffle ball tournament for ages 21 and over begins at 9:30 a.m. with 24 teams playing games on six fields. Team registration is open at www.1ball4tc.com, and teams are guaranteed three games. Entry fees are $100 per team through June 1, and $120 after. Each player receives a One Ball Tournament t-shirt, and teams can choose to enter one of three divisions, “Competitive,” “Intermediate” or “We’re Here for the Party.”

Multiple raffles will be offered, and a barbeque chicken dinner ($9 each) will be served by VMW Chapter 20 beginning at 11 a.m. until gone. All proceeds benefit One Ball Foundation, a Jamestown based non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about testicular cancer and help support those in treatment.
