Dunkirk’s Football 101 camp for kids July 16-20

The Dunkirk school district’s Community Education is offering Football 101 for kids from elementary school through eighth grade this summer.

This camp, set for July 16-20, will help your child learn the basics of football while still having fun. The camp will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day.

Vineyards Golf Course couples league to open

Vineyards will begin the couples league next Friday, June 8 with a 5 p.m. shotgun start. The format is a nine hole two couple (four golfers) scramble with a catered dinner by Mannings Catering to follow golf. There will also be prizes awarded after the dinner. You need to be signed up no later than Thursday, June 7 by 3 p.m. so that we have a count for the dinner. Please call the Vineyards office at 672-7888 by 3 p.m. June 7 to sign up for golf. Silver Creek Kiwanis Club tourney is June 29

The Silver Creek Kiwanis Club plans a day of friendly competition Friday, June 29, while helping the children of Northern Chautauqua County, with the 23rd Annual Charity Golf tournament. It will be held at Tri County Country Club. The day will include a continental breakfast, golf, lunch, appetizers and prizes. Check in is from 7:45-8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m., rain or shine. The format is a four man scramble.

Entry fee is $110 ($95 if paid by June 19). Deadline to register is June 27. To register, please contact gailmiller3@aol.com or call 934-4356. Applications are also available at Tri-County.

The Kiwanis Club supports children in the communities of Silver Creek, Forestville, Sheridan, Irving, and the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation. Their work is funded solely through fundraisers and contributions. It is the goal of the club to continue to have a meaningful impact on our community’s children.
