Wednesday Travel League

Robert Calph and Ed Tofil tied for the low round of 85 at the challenging Diamond Hawk Golf Course in Cheektowaga. Calph was the overall winner on a tiebreaker and earned his 11th career victory, putting him in a tie for 15th place all-time with Mike Baron and John Tofil. Calph also led the front nine with 40 while Wayne Ormsby led the back nine with 40. Dave Wallace and Pat Weaver won the B and C Flights, respectively. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Lenny Leszkowicz.

Friday Night Vineyards Couples League

It was another beautiful night for golf and a catered dinner from Manning’s Catering for 12 couples at the Vineyards Golf Course. Scores were a low of 30 to high of 37. Closest to the pin on No. 5 was John Lakas. There will be no golf this coming Friday due to a scheduled tournament. Golf will resume on Friday August 3.

Shur Fine had the victory over Roy G Biv 6-2. Scoring for Shur Fine was AJ with three goals, Antonio Bonasera with two goals and Mayalynn Horan with one goal. Scoring for Roy G Biv was Brayden Beichner with two goals.

Storer’s Cyclones had the victory over Lula Roe 6-0. Scoring for Storer’s Cyclones was Dominic Armstrong with five goals and Kaleb Pierce with one goal for the shutout.


Barney’s Hoof Trimming had the victory over Homestead Stables 6-0. Scoring for Barney’s was Ryan Anderson with two goals, Gemma Andersen, Cory Horton, Makenzie Lahnen and Taylor Lahnen each with one goal. Goalies for Barney’s for the shutout were: Taylor Lahnen, Makenzie Lahnen, Caleb Anderson and Ryan Anderson.

Park Church had the victory over Jamestown Macadam 3-2. Scoring for Park Church was Madison Hinton, Jaydyne Crowell and Mason Hinton each with one goal. Scoring for Jamestown Macadam was Logan Simpson with two goals.


Bethany Camp had the victory over KCR enterprise 2-1. Scoring for Bethany Camp was Connor Main with two goals. Scoring for KCR was Riley Jennings.

SKM tied Library Bookworms 1-1. Scoring for SKM was Ashlynn Smith. Scoring for Library Bookworms was Breonna Hopkins for the tie.


MK Mustangs had the victory over Southern Chautauqua FCU 7-1. Scoring for MK Mustangs was Matthew Dallas with three goals (assist Adam Dossey), Riley Pascoe (assist Cassie Mosher), Cassie Mosher (assist Jacob Ansell), Natalie Dossey (assist Jacob Ansell) and Adam Dossey each with one goal. Scoring for Southern Chautauqua FCU was Haydn Myers (assist Libby Abram).

Southern Tier Land Surveying had the Victory over Gerry Free Methodist Church 1-0. Scoring for Southern Tier Land Surveying was Noah Richner (assist Alex Reynolds). Goalies for Southern Tier were Blaine Percey and Aliyah Hopkins for the shutout.

Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament Aug. 25

The Tenth and Final Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament (GTMGT) plans are progressing and on the first tee. The 2018 tournament is set for Aug. 25 at the Vineyards golf courses in Fredonia. Registration starts at 9 a.m. The shotgun start is at 10 a.m.

The registration fee of $65 per golfer includes food on the course and dinner at the Kosciuszko Club and a golfer’s gift. The deadline to sign up is Aug. 6. Contact Katie or Pat at 366-1044. Extra foursome forms and sponsor forms will be available at the K Club.

Monies raised from past tournaments have been used to establish an annual Gary Tripp Colorectal Cancer Research fund at Roswell Park, an annual GTMGT Dunkirk High School Scholarship and an annual donation to the GTMGT SUNY Fredonia Scholarship.
