Mandatory Dunkirk parent/athlete meeting set for Wednesday in DHS auditorium
There is a mandatory parent and athlete meeting this Wednesday at 6 p.m in the Dunkirk High School auditorium for any athlete in grades 7-12. The athletic policy will be discussed at that time and the athletes and parents will meet with their children’s coaches following the discussion with the athletic director.
Very important information will be handed out at the coaches meeting. The season starts on Monday, so all attempts should be made to attend.
Also, the last free sports physical will be held at the high school on this Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. All blue cards must be turned in prior to Thursday.
Parent/athlete sports meeting to be held at Forestville High School auditorium today
All Forestville Central School student-athletes interested in participating in the modified, junior varsity, or varsity athletic programs being offered (including the combination sport teams with Silver Creek/others) during the 2018-19 school year should attend the mandatory athletic code/risk video presentation today at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium. A parent or legal guardian must accompany all athletes.
The Athletic Handbook/Code will be discussed and all required athletic participation forms will be available for completion during the presentation. Athletes who attend and complete the required forms will be eligible for the entire 2018-2019 school year. Video/code paperwork must be on file prior to the start of participation in any and all programs.
Coaches will also be on hand to offer additional information specific to their programs. If you cannot attend the meeting, you must contact the school at arrange a time to receive the necessary paperwork.

NY Inferno Fastpitch tryouts happening this week
New York Inferno Fastpitch tryouts will be held at Garnet Park, 66 Garnet Road, Amherst. In case of rain on any of the following days, tryouts will be held at New Era Park, 3950 Broadway, Depew.
The tryout schedule is as follows:
— Today at 5:30 p.m.: 10U (DOB 2008-2009); 12U (DOB 2006-2007); and 18U (DOB 2000-2001).
— Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.: 14U (DOB 2004-2005); and 16U (DOB 2002-2003).
— Thursday at 5:30 p.m.: 10U (DOB 2008-2009); 12U (DOB 2006-2007); and 18U (DOB 2000-2001).
— Friday at 5:30 p.m.: 14U (DOB 2004-2005); and 16U (DOB 2002-2003).
— Saturday at 8:30 a.m.: 10U (DOB 2008-2009) and 12U (DOB 2006-2007); 10 a.m.: 14U (DOB 2004-2005); noon: 16U (DOB 2002-2003) and 18U (DOB 2000-2001).
