On Monday, Carole Klawon scored her first hole in one on the 126 yard Hole No. 6. Witnessing the shot were Cam Lawton, Linda Roos, and Jeanne Stewart.

Trailing 2-1 in the top of the seventh, the Braves (6-9) scratched out three runs and hung on to close out the Yankees (10-5) in the final regular season action of the year. Travis Small (three hits, two runs), James Golubski, Dylan Delong (two hits, RBI) and Will Ramsey (two hits, two RBI) had the key hits in the late inning rally. Reid Bland was the winning pitching, with Ramsey getting the last inning save. The pair allowed only four singles, while walking three and striking out five Yanks batters. The Yanks only runs came from a Justyn Vara solo home run, his third of the year, and an RBI single by Steve Pantano. Vara was the tough luck loser, in relief of Allan Carmello, Jason Howard and Joe Polichetti. The quartet allowed three earned runs, walking one and striking out seven Braves sticks.
Stericycle A’s 9, L’il McGill’s Giants 2
Austin Spicer pitched five strong innings, striking out eight, while allowing only five hits to notch the win on the bump. Brian Gunnell locked down the final two frames for the Swinging A’s. Gunnell, Jim Quinn and Kevin Silk all had two hits, while Bob Bankoski, Gib Stuart (two RBI), Trevor Spicer (triple), Dan Williamson (double), Curt Jones and Spicer all hit safely in the final regular season game. Alberto Benejan and Josh Strzelec both had two hits to back losing pitcher Jason Tompkiewicz.

Randy Goss Memorial Golf Outing is Saturday
The 18th Randy Goss Memorial Golf Outing will be on Saturday at The Vineyards Golf Course. This is a two-person scramble format. Tee off will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. All golfers are asked to be at the course at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per person, which gets you 18 exciting holes, cart, lunch, beer, pop, closest to the pins, CTPs on par 3s, skins and a BBQ dinner at Dom Polskis By FREDS Catering. Sunset Bay Experience set for Saturday
IRVING — On Saturday, multiple events will take place as part of the Sunset Bay Experience.
A 5k run and walk will start at 9:30 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m. The cost is $25 the day of registration, with a student rate of $10.
After the 5k run/walk, guests are invited to enjoy a craft show, a live band, and food and drink specials. Several raffles will also take place during the event.
All proceeds will benefit the Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Company.

Final Tripp golf tournament planned for Aug. 25
The Tenth and Final Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament (GTMGT) plans are progressing and on the First Tee. The 2018 tournament is set for Aug. 25 at the Vineyards golf courses in Fredonia. Registration starts at 9 a.m. The shotgun start is at 10 a.m.
The registration fee of $65 per golfer includes food on the course and dinner at the Kosciuszko Club and a golfer’s gift. Contact Katie or Pat at 366-1044. Extra foursome forms and sponsor forms will be available at the K Club.
Monies raised from past tournaments have been used to establish an annual Gary Tripp Colorectal Cancer Research fund at Roswell Park, an annual GTMGT Dunkirk High School Scholarship and an annual donation to the GTMGT SUNY Fredonia Scholarship.
