Fredonia boys open bowling season with win
The Fredonia and Jamestown bowling teams opened their season on Monday at Lucky Lanes.
For the boys, Fredonia swept Jamestown, 4-0, with scores of 1,016-1,002-1,051-3,069 to Jamestown’s 895-983-866-2,744.
Fredonia was led by Travis Langworthy’s 241-247-673. Josh Ellman put in a solid 216-219-219-654 and Trace Mackenzie rolled a 233-622 for the winners. Fredonia’s Bryson Pacos added a 232 game.
Jamestown was led by Austin Aldrich with a 212-584 while William Ploetz added a 236 and Hunter Giunta added a 210.
As for the girls, Jamestown took all four games with a linescore of 740-688-692-2,120 compared to Fredonia’s 602-538-640-1,780.
Jamestown was led by Taylor Smith’s 190-179-535 and Justice Edens’ 177.
The Lady Hillbillies were led by Gillian Reed’s 164-188-492 and Marissa Bonafede’s 171 game.
Fredonia travels to Falconer on Wednesday.
Forestville boys win in four, Silver Creek girls prevail
SILVER CREEK — Phil Narraway cracked a 168-156-199-523 to lead the Forestville Hornets to a 4-0 sweep of Silver Creek in the boys high school bowling season opener for both clubs.
Forestville rolled a 746-805-744-2,299 compared to Silver Creek’s 707-644-648-1,999 at Hanover Lanes.
Macadem Gadewoltz had a 159-189-153-501 and Austin Pierce added a 152-179 for the winners.
The Black Knights were led by Cory Paterson’s 163-184-170-517. Daniel Paterson finished with a 148-149-464 in defeat.
Meanwhile, the Silver Creek girls topped Forestville, 3-1.
Silver Creek combined for a 573-519-540-1,632 while Forestville rolled a 515-529-502-1,546.
McKenna Steklasa led Silver Creek with a 171-160-170-507 while Andrea Olsen bowled a 188-148-148-484.
Forestville’s Ashley Forbes had a 128-146-127-444 and teammate Kayleigh Pierce finished with a 180-415.
Silver Creek returns to action Wednesday at Clymer.
