Dunkirk girls move to 28-0, Fredonia boys jump to 26-2 with sweeps

It was a clean sweep for the Dunkirk Marauders bowling teams, as both the boys and the girls took care of the opposing Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds, 4-0, Monday in CCAA high school bowling at Lucky Lanes.

The Dunkirk girls (28-0) posted a linescore of 874-834-863-2,571 to Chautauqua Lake’s 399-453-380-1,232.

The Lady Marauders were led by Adrianna Pencek’s 251-192-228-671 series. Hannah Ellman added games of 189-176 while Whitney Hice posted a 179 game and Olivia Corbett rolled a 160-163.

Jordyn Majka led Chautauqua Lake with an 89-96-84-269 series. Cheyanne Wolcott added a 78-103-78-259 series while Tiffany Parsons finished with a 98-88-73-259.

On the boy’s side, Dunkirk (25-3) posted a linescore of 917-823-726-2,466 to Chautauqua Lake’s 499-496-497-1,492.

Jared Glowniak was Dunkirk’s high bowler with a 259-208-191-658 series. Other high games for Dunkirk were recorded by Johnathon Collins (196), Jared Kibbe (174), John Loveland (173) and Jaxson Pencek (171).

The Fredonia Hillbillies swept the Falconer Golden Falcons on Monday in CCAA high school bowling action.

For the boys, Fredonia (26-2) rolled games of 889-931-932-2,752 while Falconer (13-15) combined for a 684-789-817- 2,290.

Ricky Burgstrom led the Hillbillies with a 200-234-192-626. Trace Mackenzie rolled a 234, Jacob Patterson had a 203 and Travis Langworthy added a 200 for the winners.

For Falconer, Sam Ruttenbur led the team with a 202-538. Joe Zdunski added a 207.

In the girl’s match, Fredonia (18-10) won a close match with games of 612-631-712-1,955 to Falconer’s 609-579-706-1,894.

Leading Fredonia was Gillian Reed with a 171-459.  Marissa Bonafede added a 176.

For Falconer, Mckyla Scott was the leader with a 200-484.

Fredonia travels to Jamestown on Wednesday.
