Paterson flirts with 300 game in Silver Creek victory
SILVER CREEK — Cory Paterson cracked a 279 game and was a strike away from a perfect 300 in leading the Silver Creek Black Knights (11-21) to a 4-0 sweep of the Randolph Cardinals (6-32) on Tuesday in CCAA high school bowling.
Paterson had strikes in the first eight frames before having to pick up a spare in the ninth frame. He finished strong as he recorded strikes three times in the 10th frame.
He finished with a 279-188-171-638.
Silver Creek combined for a 728-812-721-2,261 while Randolph bowled a 624-620-636-1,880 at Hanover Lanes.
Daniel Paterson contributed in the win with a 230-203-574. Bryan Berek had a 205-171-482.
For Randolph, Ryan Shipherd had a 208-169-145-522 while Noah Barber had a 151-134-403 in defeat.
In the girls’ match, Randolph (20-8) took three of four from the Black Knights (13-15) with a linescore of 538-593-498-1,629 compared to Silver Creek’s 448-544-504-1,496.
The Lady Cardinals’ Sarah Nieman charted a 178-149-145-472 while Julie Mattson rolled a 156-163-456. Lydia Gazdowski finished with a 149-144-411 for the victors.
Silver Creek’s top bowler was Andrea Olsen with a 161-149-149-459. Gabriella Rivera rolled her high game for the season with a 166.
The Black Knights travel to Lucky Lanes today to take on Brocton.
Falcons sweep T’birds
JAMESTOWN — The Falconer Golden Falcons swept the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds in CCAA high school bowling Tuesday.
For the boys, Falconer’s linescore read 780-720-762-2,262 while the Thunderbirds rolled a 593-491-565-1,649 at Jamestown Bowling Company.
The Golden Falcons received a 178-175-509 from Sam Ruttenbur while Josh Fisher had a 216-511 in the win.
Chautauqua Lake’s top bowler was Dakota Barrows with a 211-524.
In the girls match, Falconer bowled a 573-724-602-1,889 behind McKyla Scott’s 149-165-448.
Beth Brown added a 150-147.
The Lady Thunderbirds’ Cheyenne Foster and Jordyn Majka each had a 104 game.
Chautauqua Lake’s linescore read 452-433-482-1,364.
