Dunkirk’s Pasierb, Falconer’s Johnson win annual tournament

The Seventh annual High School Bowling Challenge was held on Super Bowl Sunday at Lucky Lanes, featuring many of the top high school bowlers from around the Southern Tier. The event is contested with separate boys and girls divisions using bowlers highest averages for handicap purposes. Each year, the tournament features the Sport Bowling Pattern that will be used for the upcoming Sectional tournament, which will be held next week. Pictured, from left to right, are: Boys runner-up Alex Nelson (Southwestern); boys champion Brandon Johnson (Falconer); girls champion Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk); and girls runner-up Lauryn Jodush (Allegany-Limestone). Other bowlers who qualified for Match Play were: Jarrett Maslak (third place, Fredonia) and Luz Guadarrama (third place, Jamestown). Meanwhile, bowlers who qualified for the semifinals and finished in fourth through sixth places, respectively, were: Amelia Sprague (Falconer), Kayleigh Pierce (Forestville) and Justice Edens (Jamestown) for the girls, and Devon Warner (Frewsburg), Tristan Skelly (Dunkirk) and Zack Ryberg (Jamestown) for the boys.
