Cybart earns CCAA?West 1 Most Valuable Player honors
Fredonia’s Hannah Cybart led the Lady Hillbillies to uncharted territory this season as they avanced all the way to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B Final Four.
For her efforts, Cybart, who averaged 18.8 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game and three assists per game, was named the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Athletic Association West 1 Most Valuable Player.
Cybart had help during the season, and her teammates were rewarded, as well. Sister Caitlyn Cybart was named to the First-Team as she averaged 10.4 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Chautauqua Lake’s Katelyn Fardink (10.4 point per game and 2.3 assists per game) and Taylor Phelps (9.6 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game) were also named First-Team selections. Olean’s Sara Pfeiffer, a sophomore, averaged 28.5 points per game and was selected to the First-Team as was Southwestern’s Sydney Burk, who finished with 19.3 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game.
Fredonia’s Katie Price was honored as a Second-Team selection as was Southwestern’s Alanna Dibble, Olean’s Gabby Pfeiffer, Maple Grove’s Carleigh Swanson, Falconer’s Chelsey Vincent and Chautauqua Lake’s Jesse Zenns.
