New Paltz Hawks take series, down Devils, 10-7
The Fredonia baseball team dropped a 10-7 decision to New Paltz on Monday.
Patrick Sheehan paced the Blue Devil offense with three hits and two RBI. He connected for a solo home run in the third inning. Alexio Medina, Joshua Crocetti, and Mike Prentice each had a pair of hits. Fredonia outhit the Hawks, 13-11.
New Paltz (10-8) was aided by a trio of homeruns, two by Chris Moran.
Starting pitcher Jake Harford took the loss, going four innings and giving up six earned run. Ryan Votypka earned the win in relief, tossing the final 4 1/3 innings, giving up six hits and two runs.
Fredonia falls to 11-13. They travel to Medaille for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
