Rexford pitches Bulldogs past Cougars, 2-1

SINCLAIRVILLE — Charlie Rexford and Ronald Brown limited Cassadaga Valley to six hits as Brocton edged Cassadaga Valley, 2-1, in CCAA West 2 high school baseball Thursday afternoon.

Rexford worked the first six innings and Brown finished up by fanning the side in the seventh for Brocton (6-1), which won its fifth straight.

The Bulldogs scored in the first inning on an RBI single by Jordan Krystofiak and added an unearned run in the sixth.

Cassadaga Valley tallied its run in the the sixth on a double by Conner Crabtree. The Cougars had the tying run on second in that inning, but failed to push it across.

Brandon Chamberlin went the distance for the Cougars in suffering a tough-luck loss.

The only player with two hits was Brocton’s Dan Siragusa.
