Fredonia boys, girls fall to Falconer/Cassadaga Valley

The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies had three runners win multiple events, but ultimately fell to Falconer/Cassadaga Valley, 78-63.
Lydia Lanski won the 100 hurdles in 15.6 seconds and the 400 hurdles at 1:13. Emily Brown was the 1,500 winner in 5:41 and also won the 3,000 in 12:02. Sydney Swan won the 400 in 1:04 and won the 800 at 2:42 while Claire Stokes won the high jump with a leap of 5-feet-2 inches.
Fredonia’s 4×400 relay team of Swan, Fotini Landis, Laurel Erick and Lydia Lanski took first place in 4:32.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s 4×800 team of Alex Patterson, Cam Schealy, Mikayla LeBarron and Issy Penhollow won with a time of 10:58.
In the 100, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Rachel Ward won with a time of :12.6. She also won the 200 at 26.8 and won pole vault at 7-0.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s 4×100 team of Samantha Gilbor, Cam Schealy, Amber Micek and Rachel Ward won with a time of :53.3
On the boy’s side, Fredonia’s lone multiple winner was Diego Rey, who won the 800 in 2:04.2 and the 1600 at 4:52.6.
Josh Johnson won the 3,200 in 10:40; Andrew Field took the 200 in 24.1 seconds; Joelle Colon won the 100 in 11.5 seconds and the 4×100 relay Tyrese Batton, Field, Shuart and Colon took first with a time of 47.2.
In the field events, Shuart won the shotput with a throw of 37-feet-11 1/2 inches and Hessen Baghat won the pole vault at 8-6.
Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Billy Eskeli won four events on the day to help propel his team to victory. Eskeli won the 110 hurdles (15.9), 400 hurdles (1:05.2), long jump (17-10), and triple jump (36-1).
The next meet is this weekend at the County Meet, which will be held at Dunkirk.

Girls: Portville 70, Silver Creek 66
SILVER CREEK — Senior Billy Seiders led the way for the Silver Creek Black Knights by winning three events in his final home meet of his high school career.
Seiders won the 100-meter dash in 11.5 seconds. He also won the 400 (53.9) and the 200 (23.6).
Silver Creek’s Jon McDaneld won the 1,600 at 5:25.2 and Macadem Gadewoltz took first in the 400 hurdles (1:02.6) for Silver Creek’s other wins on the day.
On the girls side, Silver Creek’s Emma Seiders — Billy Seider’s twin sister — won the same exact three events on Senior Night.
Emma Seiders won the 100 (13.3), 200 (26.6) and 400 (1:03.2).
Graduating seniors honored on Monday include: Kyle Goodrich (Forestville), Jasmine Gould (Forestville), Jarrod Locke (Forestville), Jessica Mays (Forestville), Chris Prosneick (SC), Noah Radack (SC), Emma Seiders (SC) and Billy Seiders (SC).
Southwestern 114, Dunkirk 27
LAKEWOOD — The Dunkirk Marauders boys track team fell to the undefeated Southwestern Trojans, 114-27, Monday.
Dunkirk won the 4×400 relay in 46.5 seconds with a team of Jonah Rosas, Jon Tirado, Nelson Rosaro and Devin Eddy.
The Marauders’ other lone win came in the pole vault as Angel Reyes won the evnt at 8-feet-6 inches.
