Fredonia caps off undefeated season with 10-2 win over Nardin Academy

BUFFALO — The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies (14-0, 12-0) finished their undefeated season Tuesday with a 10-2 win over Nardin Academy.

Hannah Cybart picked up a complete game victory, striking out five, while allowing no walks and no earned runs on three hits.

Caitlyn Cybart led the way with two doubles, a triple and an RBI. Sydney Bigelow doubled and drove in three runs; Kazlin Beers had two hits and an RBI; Katie Price had two hits and Cassie Essek drove in two runs.

Next up for Fredonia is a home playoff game against the winner of Wilson at Olmsted on Thursday.

Chautauqua Lake 15, Falconer 0

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds picked up a 15-0 win over the Falconer Lady Golden Falcons Monday in CCAA West 2 softball.

Allie Cummings pitched a complete game shutout. She struck out three, walked two and gave up three hits. The T’birds started out of the gate quickly, plating five runs in the first.

The big bat for the Thunderbirds belonged to Katelyn Fardink who was 4 for 5 with two RBIs. Olivia Anderson, Cameryn Hawkins, Kendra Keyse (single and double) and Ally Bird each stroked two hits apiece.

Chautauqua Lake 4, Maple Grove 2

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds (11-5, 8-4) finished their regular season with a win over the Maple Grove Lady Red Dragons.

Olivia Anderson was the winning pitcher and threw a complete game, giving up four hits, striking out 12 and issuing two walks. Anderson and Katelyn Fardink doubled with Fardink recording an RBI.

Chautauqua Lake got on the board first with a run in the top of the third. Lakin Gustafson singled, was sacrificed to second by Brittany Fardink and Anderson doubled Gustafson in. Maple Grove knotted the score, 1-1, in the bottom of the fifth. The Thunderbirds then scored three more in the top of the sixth to make it 4-1.

For Maple Grove, Caleigh Swanson recorded two singles.
