SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Black Knights (3-3, 3-2) won handily against the Gowanda Panthers, 12-3, in boys lacrosse on Tuesday.

Silver Creek maintained their dominance throughout the contest, leading 7-3 at the half before finishing strong with five unaswered goals.

The scoring leaders for Silver Creek on the day were Brett Logan with four goals, followed by Jacob Spruce (3) and Austin Eggleston (3). Ammon Jones and Dylan Snow also chipped in with one goal apiece.

Uriah Jones led the way for the Panthers with two goals. Marcus Jones also scored for Gowanda.

Recent weather conditions have surprisingly been beneficial for Silver Creek. “We invite cold, rainy weather bacause we only have 12 guys,” said Silver Creek coach Rob Genco. “As long as we get more weeks like this we can play with anybody.”

Genco is also proud of his team’s work ethic saying, “These guys are working really hard and playing up and down the whole game. We play ironman lacrosse with max effort at both ends. I appreciate how hard an effort my guys are giving us each game.”

The Black Knights play a tough road matchup today against the first-place Akron Tigers.
