CCAA North champion Cassadaga Valley has five players on list

Cassadaga Valley, which went undefeated in CCAA North girls volleyball play this season, placed five players on the league’s All-Star list released Wednesday.

The Most Valuable Player was Jenna Caskey of the Lady Cougars, who went undefeated in divisional play this season. She was joined by Cassadaga teammate Maranda Perez on the First Team, while Savanna Nickerson and Ashley Lind made the Second Team and Kaitlyn Wakelee was an Honorable Mention.

Forestville’s Brooke Ostrye had the second-leading point total in the poll, with 62 points while Caskey had 69. The rest of the First Team is Irene Macaluso of North Collins, Gowanda’s Megan Gominiak, Isabelle Wrobleski of North Collins, Krystal Schwab of Silver Creek and Mackenzie Markham from Fredonia.

Besides Nickerson and Lind, the Second Team includes Caroline Kaicher of Forestville, North Collins’ Baylee Romano, Summer Allen of Gowanda, Alexis Tofil of Dunkirk and Elyse Markham of Brocton-Westfield.

The other Honorable Mentions were Gowanda’s Marleah Stevens and Fredonia’s Katie Price.

The Team Sportsmanship Award went to Brocton-Westfield.
