DHS bowlers continue great start, sweep Southwestern
nkirk’s boys and girls bowling teams both beat Southwestern in a high school varsity match Wednesday at Lucky Lanes.
The Lady Marauders (8-0) wrote down a score of 860-775-738-2,373. Southwestern (0-8) recorded a 625-626-535-1,786 score.
Hannah Ellman rolled a 193-183-164-540 for Dunkirk. Her teammate, Rachel Glowniak, bowled 220-176-134-530. Olivia Corbett had a 191, and Makayla Pasierb a 172 game for the Lady Marauders.
Southwestern was led by Alexis Berry with 170-145-132-447. Lauren Kimball recorded a 154 game, while Morgan Wilson rolled a 148.
In the boys’ competition, Dunkirk (8-0) had 820-805-897-2,522 and the Trojans 610-736-732-2,078.
Brady Corbett, a seventh grader making his first varsity start for the Marauders, rolled the team’s high game with 210. Dunkirk’s Trevor Skelly recored a score of 179-207-201-587, while Jaxson Pencek had 191-147-156-494. Tristan Skelly came up with a 182 game.
The Trojans saw Alex Nelson go for 149-186-189-524. Jordan Smith rolled games of 178 and 152, while Hans Vanderzyden had a 153 game.
The Marauders return to action Monday against Jamestown at Lucky Lanes.

JAMESTOWN — Fredonia’s boys high school bowling team defeated Falconer Wednesday in Jamestown, but the Fredonia girls lost their match.
The Fredonia Hillbillies boys bowling team won, 3-1. Fredonia won the first two games of the match, in addition to the overall total, with scores of 946-932-852-2,730.
Trace Mackenzie had the top game score of the match, with a game of 256. Mackenzie finished with a total of 611. Jacob Patterson (223-244-638), was the high series for Fredonia, while Josh Ellman also broke 200 in a game with a score of 204.
Falconer (870-901-879-2650) was led by Jon Zdunski, with a series of 197-203-582. Jackson Fowler was the high game for Falconer with a game of 221. Jacob Chapman (194), Matt Bowman (192), and Matt Gullotti (192) were the other notables for Falconer.
Fredonia improves to 6-2, while Falconer falls to 2-6.
On the girls’ side, the Falconer team defeated the Lady Hillbillies by a score of 4-0. Falconer had scores of 667-676-734-2077, while Fredonia totaled 648-606-623-1877.
McKayla Scott led Falconer with a series of 164-159-157-480, while Amelia Sprague added 163-164-450. Fredonia’s top bowler was Gillian Reed, with totals of 157-172-468.
Falconer improves to 8-0, as Fredonia falls to 0-8.

Forestville’s high school boys varsity bowling team lost to Frewsburg, 4-0, on Wednesday, but the Lady Hornets won their side of the match, 3-1.
Forestville (8-4) had a 742-763-723-2,228 in defeat. Phil Narraway rolled a 503 series, while Marshall Hallowell recorded a 498 series, for the team.
For Frewsburg, Josh Snow went for 214-217-262-693 and Caleb Terhune charted 267-649.
The 11-1 Lady Hornets had 635-626-549-1,810 to Frewsburg’s 489-570-607-1,666.
Ashley Forbes bowled 194-508 for Forestville. Tristian Olsen scored 196-485.
The Bears’ Emily Zamborik had 157-447, while Kaitlyn Bean put in 166-416.
RANDOLPH 4, BROCTON 0
Randolph topped Brocton, 4-0, in high school bowling action Wednesday at Lucky Lanes.
The Randolph score was 710-720-667-2,097. The host Bulldogs rolled 654-591-608-1,853.
The Bulldogs were led by Jordan Krystofiak’s 246-180-603. Brooke Jesionowski recorded a 168 game for the team.
Tyler Rowley bowled 202-178-547 for Randolph. His teammate, Noah Barber, rolled a 190
Brocton fell to 0-8. For Randolph, it was the opening match of the season.
The Bulldogs return to action at Chautauqua Lake on Tuesday.
