Dunkirk bowling team wins opening match

The Dunkirk Marauders bowling team swept Silver Creek in its first match of the season, held at Lucky Lanes on Monday.

Dunkirk won both the boys’ and girls’ matches by 4-0 scores. The Dunkirk girls put up 872-897-852-2,621 as compared to the Black Knights’ 606-709-679-1,994. The score for the boys’ match was Dunkirk 810-757-833-2,400 and Silver Creek 712-752-693-2,157.

The Lady Marauders were led by Mariah Glowniak’s 214-230-172-616 and Rachel Glowniak’s 181-179-189-549. Hannah Ellman scored 177-182-179 -538 and Makayla Pasierb put up 172-160-147-479 for the team. Summer Clark had a 165 game. Silver Creek’s top scorer was Andrea Olsen (152-156-201-509), followed by McKenna Steklasa (132-204-150 -486).

Tristan Skelly recorded the Dunkirk boys’ top score with a 168-157-192-517. Jared Glowniak scored 180-153-165-498 while Jaxson Pencek rolled a 490 series (165-159-166). Jared Kibbe had games of 178 and 151 and Trevor Skelly put up a 175. For the Black Knights, it was Daniel Paterson leading the way with a score of 222-181-158-561, while Cory Paterson recored a score of 184-162-157-503

FREDONIA 3-0, JAMESTOWN 1-4

Fredonia opened the bowling season on Monday with a a split decision against Jamestown at Lucky Lanes.

The Hillbillies won the boys match, 3-1, with Fredonia shooting 1,019, 951 and 1,040 for a 3,010 total. Jamestown rolled 895-1,017-944 for a total score of 2,856. In the girls match, Jamestown won 4-0 with scores of 689, 727 and 782 for 2,198 to Fredonia’s 640-593-622-1,855.

The Fredonia boys were led by Jacob Patterson with a 266 and a 645 series. Bryson Pacos rolled games of 211 and 237 and a 636 series. Mike Dispense rolled 201 and 225 and Josh Ellman added a 221 game.

Leading Jamestown was Kyle Christensen with a 226, a 211 and a 619 series. Colton Cappalino rolled 223, Riley Piazza added games of 207 and 206 and Austin Aldrich added a 218.

In the girls match, Jamestown won 4-0 with scores of 689, 727 and 782 for 2,198 to Fredonia’s 640-593-622-1,855.

Jamestown was led by Emily Ryberg with a 182, a 192 and a 513 series. Justice Edens added a 181 game. Leading Fredonia was Gillian Reed with a 200 game and a 504 series.

Fredonia travels to Falconer on Wednesday.
