Wolverines drop 78 in win over Falconer

OBSERVER Staff Report

WESTFIELD — The Westfield boys basketball team defeated Falconer 78-40 during a tournament game Friday night.

“I thought offensively, we played really well today,” Westfield coach Bob North stated.

Shawn Horr led the balanced attack for the Wolverines, picking up a game-high 14 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Taylar Olson led the Golden Falcons with a team high of nine points.

“We have really good balance, and that makes us tough to guard on defense because we’re coming at you from all areas,” said North. “We had three guys in double figures, and a fourth guy who had nine (points). We made some outside shots, and we had good inside play. … We made eight 3-pointers as a team, so that’s a well-rounded offensive game.”

Westfield plays for the tournament championship today at 7 p.m. against Sherman. Falconer will take on Forestville in the consolation game at 5:15 p.m., both game in Westfield.
