Black Knights drop 71

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Black Knights improved to 9-1 on the season with a 71-52 win over Portville in a CCAA Div. 1 East boys basketball game on Thursday.

After a close first quarter, Silver Creek (9-1, 2-0) caught fire in the second quarter, scoring 30 points in the period behind five three-pointers.

“We heated up from the outside in the second quarter,” said Silver Creek coach Rob Genco.

Domonic Jamison drilled six three-pointers in the first half for the Black Knights, and finished with 20 points for the game.

Braeden Woleben had a huge game in the paint for Silver Creek, according to Genco. Woleben had a game-high 24 points, along with a game-high 25 rebounds for the Black Knights. Jarmani Benton added 15 points, while Tucker Gates had nine points, along with a team-leading seven assists.

Portville (3-8, 0-2) was led by Caden Keim with 18 points, while Jonah Watson had 16 points.
