Jamestown eighth grader bowls 726 against Fredonia

JAMESTOWN — Wednesday was a good day to be a Red Raider at Jamestown Bowling Company.

Especially Zach Ryberg.

The eighth-grader fired a 258-267-726 Wednesday afternoon to lead the Jamestown High School boys bowling team to a 4-0 victory over Fredonia in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association match.

But Ryberg had company among the highlight-reel performances for the Red Raiders (24-4), who produced a linescore of 1,162-1,042-1,093-3,297 compared to the Hillbillies’ 905-932-995-2,832.

Four other Jamestown keglers surpassed the 600 mark – Riley Piazza (238-651), Austin Aldrich (258-224-650), Kyle Christensen (234-233-648) and William Ploetz (245-622) – in one of the top Red Raider performances in recent memory.

Travis Langworthy topped Fredonia (22-6) with a 225-247-632, while teammate Jacob Patterson shot a 215-608.

Jamestown also won the girls match, 4-0, with a linescore of 706-831-735-2,722 compared to Fredonia’s 702-664-679-2,045.

Justice Edens led the way for the Lady Red Raiders (16-7) with a 211-563. Jillian Reed paced the Lady Hillbillies (6-22) with a 494.


JAMESTOWN — Falconer was able to post a pair of wins over Silver Creek at Jamestown Bowling Company, with the boys winning 4-0 and the girls picking up a 3¢-¢ win.

Matt Gullotti led the Golden Falcons (11¢-20¢) with a 211-221-220-652 as the team rolled a combined 761-853-906-2,520, while Jared Chadwick spilled a 203 game and Jacob Chapman had a 186 game.

Silver Creek (5-23) finished with a 743-708-715-2,166, after Cory Patterson rolled games of 190 and 180 while Daniel Patterson spilled a 198 single.

The Lady Golden Falcons (20¢-11¢) rolled a 829-763-684-2,276 to defeat Silver Creek (16¢-11¢), which finished with a 682-738-384-2,104. Leading the winners was Hannah Cross with a 164-185-163-512, Samantha Lanphere with a 157, Beth Brown with a 188-160-489 and McKyla Scott with a 176.

The Lady Black Knights had Andrea Olsen finish with a 179-157-468, while McKenna Steklasa spilled a 187 and Gabby Rivera had a 178-154.


Frewsburg (27-1) had little trouble with Brocton (5-23) on Wednesday, finishing with a linescore of 911-972-952-2,835 while the Bulldogs had a 741-652-628-2,021 at Lucky Lanes.

Josh Snow led the winners with a 619, which included a high game of 247, while Caleb Terhune spilled a 182-166-254-602.

Jordan Krystofiak led the way for Brocton with a 170-174-189-533.
